The Legend Continues — Has The New Batman For “Justice League” Been Chosen?

File this one under rumor for now, but reports are circulating around the ‘net that executives at Warner Bros. are currently firming up their choice for the next on-screen Batman for the proposed Justice League film.

Spoilers for The Dark Knight Rises are under the cut, so avoid if you haven’t seen the film yet! For everyone else, read on…

Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises ended Bruce’s journey as Batman, seeing him retire and pass the mantle onto John Blake, Nolan’s version of Robin. Now many saw this as the end of Nolan’s iteration of the caped crusader, but Hitfix is reporting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who played John Blake, is the man who Warner Bros. is targeting to play Batman in 2015’s Justice League.

Now with Zack Snyder hinting that his Superman could be part of the Justice League film Warner Bros. is planning, speculation has been rife that maybe, just maybe, a cinematic universe is slowly being formed before our eyes, akin to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If this does indeed happen, then I’m sure that seeing JGL cast as Batman will sure as hell divide fans…

Justice League has been given a 2015 release date.
