“Scary Movie 5″ To Answer Any Lingering Questions Left Over From “Scary Movie 4″

Coming Soon reports that Undercover Brother director Malcolm Lee will be taking the reigns of Scary Movie 5, set to be released next January.

For my money, if one third of the legendary Zucker Abrahams Zucker comedy team couldn’t rescue this franchise in two attempts (David Zucker directed Scary Movies 3 & 4), I think it’s beyond salvation. The first one had its moments, the second had even fewer and it’s best we not even mention 3 & 4 again.

What do you guys think? Is there any hope for this franchise? It’s got to be better than the Friedberg/Seltzer films that were essentially a series of film references strung together for ninety minutes, but that’s not saying much…
